Check Out the New-Look Chris...
Check Out the New-Look Christenberry Ballfields!
With the National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series being played at Christenberry Ballfields, it was the perfect time to thank the federation and celebrate the $1.2 million in upgrades to the City sports complex.
The improvements include new turf infields, scoreboards, video boards, perimeter fencing, concession areas, batting cages and more.

Locally, Fulton High plays its home baseball and softball games here. And of course the Knoxville Falcons play here – starting with the 4-year-old T-ballers.
But the fields are not just for baseball: This fall, 6 and Under flag football and tackle football teams will be playing here.
And because this facility also serves Christenberry Elementary School, the Community Center and the Oakwood-Lincoln Park neighborhood, the City installed a new $257,000 playground here earlier this year. The kids absolutely love it!
At the July 17 ribbon-cutting, Mayor Indya Kincannon and others remembered former City Councilman Larry Cox, who was also a longtime Knoxville Falcons commissioner. Larry laid the groundwork for the state-of-the-art complex with his many decades of passion and advocacy for youth sports. The field here is named in his honor.
Here is a small gallery from the dedication ceremony:
