KPD Investigating Fatal Stabbing at N. Bertrand Street Apartment
Victim Identified from Deadly N. Bertrand Street Stabbing
The victim from the stabbing that occurred at 128 N. Bertrand Street on August 2, 2022 has been identified as William Burris, 53 of Knoxville, Tennessee. Burris lived at the apartment where the stabbing and assault took place.
Violent Crimes Unit investigators are continuing to follow active leads, but no suspects have been arrested or charged at this time.

Original Release
At around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to an apartment at 128 N. Bertrand Street after receiving a call that a man had been stabbed and assaulted. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim inside of a second-floor apartment. AMR and Knoxville Fire Department personnel rendered aid but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded to the scene to begin the investigation, which remains in the preliminary stages. There is no suspect information at this time.
