Suspect Identified in W. Oak Hill Avenue Shooting
Update (July 25, 2020, 12:30 p.m.): Murder Suspect Arrested in Detroit
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24, members of the U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested Vondre Lamar Allen in Detroit, Michigan. Allen is wanted for the murder of Phillip Sneed in the 700 block of W. Oak Hill Avenue on July 21. Allen has been booked into the Wayne County Jail, where he will remain until further notice.

Violent Crimes Unit investigators have identified 24-year-old Vondre Lamar Allen (DOB: 2/21/96) of Highland Park, Michigan as the suspect from the fatal shooting of Phillip Sneed on Tuesday, July 21 in the 700 block of W. Oak Hill Avenue. Allen was identified through leads that were developed following the shooting by Investigators Jason Booker and Chas Terry with assistance from the Organized Crime Unit.
A warrant has been issued for Allen for First Degree Murder with a $750,000 bond. Allen, who should be considered armed and dangerous, remains at large. He is believed to be travelling in a silver 2020 Ford Fusion with Pennsylvania tags. Anyone with information concerning Allen’s whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Hotline at 865-215-7212.
