On Wednesday, April 22 at around 1:30 a.m., KPD East District officers responded to investigate an alarm at the Bluhen Botanicals in East Knoxville. Once they arrived, officers spotted and detained a male subject. The door to the business appeared to have been pried open, while officers located a bicycle and a large black garbage bag containing hemp believed to have been taken from inside the business following a subsequent search of the perimeter. The suspect, 51-year-old Sammy Roark, was taken into custody and charged with burglary after admitting to taking from the property for several weeks.
