Second Neighborhood Safety Meeting is May 19, 2022 in West Knoxville

Posted: 05/10/2022
West Knoxville neighbors are invited to the next Neighborhood Safety and Awareness meeting, on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Deane Hill Recreation Center. The first meeting, focused on East Knoxville neighborhoods, was held in February.

At each meeting, staff members from City departments engaged in public safety issues will present crime data, crime-prevention tips and information about their departments’ efforts to engage neighbors in initiatives and activities that can decrease crime and increase connectivity between neighbors and public safety organizations.

KPD Officer and Neighborhood Watch Coordinator John Morgan will present crime data for neighborhoods located within city limits, in City Council Districts 2, 3 and part of 6, including those in and near Bearden, Mechanicsville, Pond Gap, Sequoyah Hills, Cumberland Estates, West Hills, Westwood and West View.

Representatives from departments, such as Knoxville Fire Department, KPD’s Safety City, and other community safety organizations, such as Metro Drug Coalition, Red Cross, etc. will be in attendance to speak to residents as well.

The City of Knoxville ensures meaningful access to City programs, services and activities to comply with Civil Rights Title VI and ADA Title II laws and reasonably provides: translation, interpretation, modifications, accommodations, alternative formats, auxiliary aids and services. To request language translation services, contact Diversity and Inclusion Officer Tatia M. Harris at [email protected] or 865-215-2831. For disability accommodations, contact City ADA Coordinator Stephanie Brewer Cook at [email protected] or 865-215-2034 at least 72 hours before the meeting.
