Mayor Indya Kincannon, City Council representatives and City staff will participate in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission’s Memorial March Parade. The parade, which will include multiple community groups, will step off at 10 a.m. from the Chilhowee Park Midway at N. The City's Solid Waste Facility, 1033 Elm St., will be closed from Saturday, Jan. 15, through Monday, Jan. 17.

The City's five recycling drop-off centers will be open Monday, Jan. 17, but the Goodwill attendant will not be on site to accept donations of household goods.

Monday’s holiday closure includes the 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers. Residents may also submit requests at KnoxvilleTN.gov/311, via email [email protected] or go to 211.org for a list of social services.

Waste Connections will run its normal residential garbage and recycling routes. Downtown trash and recyclables also will be collected on a regular schedule.
