The Knoxville Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit is dedicated to making Knoxville communities safer and stronger.  It is with this goal in mind the dedicated officers and civilians in the ICAC Unit work to protect children in our community from those that would exploit them.  KPD is the lead agency for the Tennessee ICAC Task Force.  The Tennessee ICAC Task Force is compromised of affiliate agencies that are located in all three geographic regions of the state. The KPD ICAC Unit works with federal agencies and state and federal prosecutors to enforce technology-facilitated child exploitation. The task force is funded through grants from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and State of Tennessee legislative appropriations. The task force is dedicated to protecting children from harm through investigative effectiveness, forensic resources, prosecution of offenders, and education for law enforcement and the public.
