City of Knoxville
Housing and Neighborhood Development invites residents to a public meeting on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 6 p.m. to learn about and provide feedback on the City’s process of creating a Fair Housing Equity Plan. The meeting will be held at the Cansler Family YMCA at 616 Jessamine Street.
A Fair Housing Equity Plan addresses patterns of racial and ethnic segregation, concentrations of poverty, and areas of opportunity. It also analyzes public policies and programs, identifies fair housing issues and proposes measurable solutions.
The City has partnered with Community Solutions Collaborative (CSC) to create an Equity Plan with the help of residents. At the meeting, Rob Breymaier of CSC will discuss how cities’ Equity Plans strive to reduce disparities and improve overall prosperity and equitable outcome related to housing. Public participation and input is key to a successful process.
