On Monday, March 12, Mayor Rogero spent time with Rita Haddad and Deanna Jones - Director of Client Programs and Services from the Mid South Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society and Libby Hall - Manager of Cole Neuroscience Center at UT Medical Center.
The National MS Society is moving research forward by relentlessly pursuing prevention, treatment and a cure and is championing the needs of people with MS through activism and advocacy.
Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system and nationwide, more than 400,000 people live with multiple sclerosis, including more than 700 residents of Knoxville.
Mayor Rogero presented the group with a proclamation declaring the week of March 12-18 as "MS Awareness Week."
