KPD Animal Control Seeking Identity of Owner of Abandoned, Severely Neglected Dog 
UPDATE (March 18, 2022, 9 p.m.)

Through continued investigation by the Animal Control Unit, the owner of the dog that was found abandoned in the 4900 block of Jenkins Road has been identified. The owner was identified as 36-year-old Jamie Will. Will was charged with animal cruelty, while Animal Control also confiscated two dogs and a cat that were in her care for their protection.

The dog, which was named Bridget after she was taken in by the Young-Williams Animal Center, passed away on March 15 despite extensive efforts to save her life.

KPD Animal Control Officers are seeking the identity of the owner of a dog that was found abandoned in a cloth dog carrier behind a dumpster at an apartment complex in the 4900 block of Jenkins Road on Saturday morning. 

The dog – a terrier or poodle mix – was alive when it was found at around 10:45 a.m. but showed signs of serious neglect and had numerous areas of its body that were severely infected. The dog was transported to the Young-Williams Animal Center for a cruelty exam and to receive extensive medical treatment. 

The dog, dog carrier and area where the dog was found are shown in the accompanying photos. Anyone with information is asked to contact KPD Animal Control directly at 865-215-8639.
