Two Charged for Distributing Crack Cocaine from Knoxville Apartment  
On Wednesday, October 5, 2022 the Knoxville Police Department Organized Crime Unit, with assistance from Special Operations Squad personnel, executed a search warrant at the Vistas Apartments at 110 Hall of Fame Drive.  

The apartment was the subject of an ongoing investigation based on recent intelligence from patrol officers as well as citizen complaints concerning drug sales. OCU investigator DionDre Jackson was able to obtain a search warrant for the apartment following extensive investigation, which included controlled buys.  

Upon execution of the search warrant, Investigators located crack cocaine, items for manufacturing and distributing crack cocaine, a hand held metal detector, and numerous two-way radios. 

Officers arrested James Howell, DOB 11/11/89, and Darnell Bergman, DOB 10/22/80, for Sale and Delivery of Cocaine. 

The investigation revealed that multiple non-residents, including Howell and Bergman, were using the apartment to sale and distribute crack cocaine. Investigators are continuing the work to identify the others involved in the distribution from the apartment.
