Deadly Shooting on Linden Avenue
Aman McCutchen Charged with First Degree Murder from Deadly Shooting on October 8th (October 20, 2022, 9 a.m.)
Knoxville Police Department Violent Crimes Unit investigators have identified, arrested and charged the suspect from the murder of 23-year-old Robby Mathews, who was shot and killed outside of a Linden Avenue home on October 8, 2022.
Through continued investigation following the shooting, Aman McCutchen, 22 of Knoxville, Tennessee, was identified as a suspect. On Wednesday, October 19, investigators obtained and served a search warrant at McCutchen’s residence on Parkview Avenue. McCutchen was detained and a loaded handgun was found in the home, which was determined to be the same gun used in the shooting of Mathews.
McCutchen was taken into custody and has been charged with first degree murder.

Victim Identified from Deadly Shooting on Linden Avenue (October 10, 2022, 9:45 a.m.)
The victim from the deadly shooting that happened on Saturday on Linden Avenue has been identified as Robby Mathews, 23 of Knoxville.
The investigation revealed that multiple gunshots were heard shortly after the victim walked out of the home at 2806 Linden Avenue. The victim then walked back into the home, collapsed and was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he died after his arrival.
No suspects have been arrested or charged, but Violent Crimes Unit investigators are continuing to follow active leads.

At 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the 2800 block of Linden Avenue on the report of a shooting with a victim. Officers arrived on scene and located a man who had been shot. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
There is no suspect information and the investigation into the shooting is in the preliminary stages.
