Area Law Enforcement Agencies to Host Faith & Blue Event at Safety City on Monday, October 10

The Knoxville Police Department and seven other area law enforcement entities are partnering to host an event for National Faith & Blue Weekend (October 7-10, 2022).

The event will be held on Monday, October 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Safety City, located at 165 S. Concord Street. Numerous area law enforcement agencies will be in attendance, including the KPD, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, University of Tennessee Police Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

As part of the event, partner agencies will hold a food drive. Attendees are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, dried fruits and vegetables, or nuts. The Volunteer Bus will be on hand at the event to transport all donations to a local food bank.

The event will also include static law enforcement displays, as well as the opportunity to meet local law enforcement representatives and faith-based leaders.

Safety City will be open throughout the event. Families are encouraged to attend and explore the City. Kids can explore the park on bicycles, non-motorized scooters or other push toys. Helmets are required.

There is no resource that can match the depth of the faith community in facilitating productive engagement with law enforcement, which is needed now more than ever. These connections are built through activities that are held in neighborhoods of every kind across the United States, jointly hosted by houses of worship and local law enforcement entities.
