Two Dead, Two Injured in Shooting at Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill

Victims Identified from Shooting at Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill (May 2, 2022, 1:45 p.m.)

The victims from the shooting that occurred at the Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill on Friday night have been identified as Kenneth Burgett, 46 of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Patrick Petty, 30 of Harrogate, Tennessee.

A 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were found on scene suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Additionally, a 30-year-old man arrived at the Claiborne Medical Center suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after reportedly fleeing from the scene.

No suspects have been arrested or charged and the investigation is continuing.

Update on Shooting at Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill (April 30, 2022, 2:55 p.m.)

The Knoxville Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is continuing its investigation into the shooting that happened in the parking lot of Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill on Friday night.

Based on the findings of the preliminary investigation, the following occurred. A fight broke out in the parking lot of Hatmaker’s and shots were fired, resulting in the death of a member of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club and a member of the Pagans Motorcycle Club, two outlaw motorcycle gangs. Two other men, one member of the Outlaws and one member of the Pagans, were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Additionally, while officers were on scene, they were advised that another man with unknown affiliation arrived at the Claiborne Medical Center suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim reportedly fled the scene and drove to the Claiborne Medical Center for treatment. He was airlifted to the UT Medical Center for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

No suspects have been arrested or identified at this time.

At around 9:45 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill at 2917 Tazewell Pike. Responding officers located four gunshot victims at the scene. Two men were pronounced dead at the scene, while two other men were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed that there was an active fight in the parking lot when shots were fired. Multiple individuals were seen running from the scene. No suspects are in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
