At around 7 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers arrived at the scene of a single-car crash on S. Northshore Drive at Lyons View Pike. The driver of the involved car, which had come to rest just inside of Lakeshore Park, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. The driver was the only occupant of the car.
KPD crash reconstruction investigators responded to the scene and are leading the investigation, which is in the preliminary stages. The identity of the victim is being withheld until notifications can be made to the victim’s family.
