Victim from Nichols Avenue Shooting Dies from Injuries 
The victim from the shooting that occurred in the 2800 block of Nichols Avenue on Wednesday, November 24 has died as a result of his injuries and the Knoxville Police Department Violent Crimes Unit is continuing its investigation into the shooting.   

Officers responded to a home in the 2800 block of Nichols Avenue at around 9:50 p.m. on November 24. It was reported that an unknown individual had shot into the residence, striking the victim at least one time. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Alonzo Rodgers of Knoxville, Tennessee, was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries this past weekend.  

Violent Crimes Unit investigators are pursuing active leads on the case, but no suspects have been arrested or charged for their role in the shooting at this time.
