Two Arrested for Divide Street Shooting
On Thursday, September 3 at around 5 p.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 3300 block of Divide Street and took two suspects from a shooting that occurred on July 1 into custody. Damarcus Dunaway (DOB 7/15/02) and a 15-year-old male were taken into custody without incident on charges that include attempted second degree murder x3, especially aggravated robbery x3 and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

On July 1, 2020 at around 7:35 p.m., KPD officers were dispatched to a shooting at Divide Street and Savoy Street, where three juvenile victims were located. Two of the victims were transported to the UT Medical Center with severe injuries as a result of the shooting, while the third suffered minor abrasions. It was determined that the three victims went to the location of the shooting to make a prearranged sale with the suspects. The two suspects, now identified as Dunaway and the 15-year-old male, then brandished firearms in an attempted robbery, began shooting and fled the scene on foot.
