Carjacking Suspect Apprehended  
On Saturday, August 22 at around 1:15 a.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a carjacking that had occurred in the 1300 block of Knotty Pine Way. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the male victim, who reported that an unknown suspect had taken his car, a white Honda Accord, at gunpoint and fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel. Officers were unable to locate the car or suspect immediately following the incident. 

At around 11:50 a.m. on August 22, following continued investigation, officers responded to the 3600 block of Lyons Way, where the vehicle was located and a male matching the description of the suspect was observed. Officers attempted to speak with the suspect, but he fled on foot. The suspect, identified as Jeromon Lawery (DOB 10/4/83), was apprehended a short time later with K-9 assistance. 

The victim positively identified Lawery from a provided lineup as the person responsible for the carjacking, and Lawery was charged with carjacking and evading arrest with additional charges possible. Lawery was also wanted out of Chatham County, Georgia for violation of parole.
