Kapryce Landers, 22, Arrested for Third Creek Greenway Assault
On Friday, June 19 at about 6:20 p.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the Third Creek Greenway on Sutherland Avenue for an alleged assault.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female victim, who stated that she had been running on the greenway when she was approached by the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Kapryce Landers, and assaulted. After a struggle, the victim fled the scene towards West High School and made contact with a witness, who called 911. While officers were talking to the victim, a second female approached officers and stated that a suspect matching Landers’ description had been chasing her earlier that same day, but she was able to find another runner on the greenway and the suspect continued past her.

As officers spoke to the victims, additional patrol units located and detained the suspect walking on Sutherland Avenue towards Hollywood Road. Following further investigation, Landers was charged with sexual battery, attempted kidnapping, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of a schedule II. It is believed that Landers was possibly involved in additional and similar recent incidents on the Third Creek Greenway. Further charges could be forthcoming as the Violent Crimes Unit continues its investigation into those allegations and events.
