KPD Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Magnolia Avenue

Bicyclist Identified from Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash (October 3, 2022, 11:15 a.m.)

The bicyclist from the fatal hit-and-run crash on Magnolia Avenue has been identified as George Davis, 59 of Knoxville, Tennessee.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. At this time, investigators have not yet identified the vehicle that was involved in the crash. The suspect vehicle is possibly a gray or silver Nissan SUV that is missing the driver’s side mirror.

At around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a crash involving a bicyclist on Magnolia Avenue near Spruce Street. The male bicyclist was found laying in the road with severe injuries. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The involved vehicle fled the scene prior to officer arrival and has not yet been identified. Based on investigation at the scene, the suspect vehicle is possibly a gray or silver Nissan SUV. The vehicle is missing the driver’s side mirror.
