The silver screen is set to light up Market Square on Friday nights starting September 14 with Space Jam. Based on a community-wide vote, this year's lineup of Knox County Public Library's Movies on Market Square features superheroes, Cali-girls, spirited ancestors, some befuddled monsters, and a magical board game gone wrong.
Knox County Public Library hosts Movies on Market Square presented by Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union to highlight the Library’s vast collection of movies and music available both as physical copies and online for download with more than 40,000 titles to choose from.
And the winners are:
• 9/14 - Space Jam (PG, 1996)
• 9/21 - Clueless (PG-13, 1995)
• 9/28 - Monsters, Inc. (G, 2001)
• 10/5 - Jumaji (PG, 1995)
• 10/12 - Black Panther (PG-13, 2018)
• 10/19 - Coco (PG, 2017)
All movies are rated PG-13, PG or G, but parents are encouraged to check out the films to make sure they are right for their family. The series will run for six Friday nights, from September 14 through October 19. Movies begin at dusk, and well-behaved dogs are welcome. Moviegoers should bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
