CrossKnox 15k Race: Touring Greenways East to West


What: CrossKnox 15k Race for runners and walkers
This 10-mile race, presented by the Knoxville Track Club and City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation, is a course that is completely on greenways. Sponsored by Pilot, this race is a great chance to see how all of the greenways are connected and to view the scenic side of Knoxville. Runners and walkers are welcome to this certified race!

Where: Race: From Alex Haley Heritage Square to Bearden Elementary School ; Walk: from Alex Haley Heritage Square to the festival lawn in World's Fair Park.

When: Sunday, October 14 , 2015

Registration Cost: $30 (before 8/30)
                                $35 (9/1-10/9)
                                $40 (Race Day and Mail-In)

Awards: Awards to top 3 Overall, top Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior Grandmasters(60+) for Male and Female. Awards to the top Clydesdale (male, 200 lbs+) and Athena (female, 150 lbs+). Overall winners not eligible for age division awards (three deep). Awards must be picked up on race day. Awards will not be mailed. All participants will be eligible for door prizes.

Finish Line Party: After the race, participants will be bussed back to Morningside Park for massages, award presentation, and food.

Registration: Online at the Knoxville Track Club's web site, by mail, or in person the Friday before and day of the event.

Family and friends viewing sites: Gov. Ned McWherter Park, Volunteer Landing, and Tyson Park.

Sites along the race: The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department initiated this race to provide a tour of five connected greenways that show off Knoxville's beauty. Along the route, you will see:
