The City of Knoxville's Office of Neighborhoods encourages every neighborhood to develop a neighborhood-level emergency preparedness plan, so that residents can respond more swiftly and confidently to emergencies until professional emergency personnel can reach the scene.

See the Program Guide for developing a Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Plan (NEPP).

The Office of Neighborhoods also offers the Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Speaker Series. Emergency response agencies will come to your neighborhood meeting to present informational or training sessions. Agencies that will send a speaker to your neighborhood meeting include:

American Red Cross
Knox County Health Department
• Knoxville Knox County Emergency Management Agency (KEMA)
• Knoxville Fire Department
• Knoxville Police Department

If you are interested in working with your neighbors on emergency preparedness planning, or if you would like to schedule an Emergency Series Speaker, please contact Rebecca McIver at rmciver@knoxvilletn.gov or 865-215-3456.
