The Neighborhood Small Grants Program (NSGP) is designed to strengthen neighborhoods in the City of Knoxville by supporting a wide range of community-based initiatives through grants and technical assistance.

The program is aimed at resident-controlled, resident-led neighborhood groups such as neighborhood watch groups, neighborhood associations, tenant associations, and homeowners associations.

The 2018 funding cycle will include these steps and these dates:

May 2017: The Office of Neighborhoods will issue the 2018 NSGP Guidelines and Application. These will be revised slightly from the 2017 documents. Check back for these revised documents.

June 2017: Neighborhood groups intending to apply for a grant must send a representative to a mandatory pre-application workshop. Attendance at one of these two workshops is mandatory in order to apply for the grant:
*** Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m.-Noon, Public Works Building, 3131 Morris Avenue.
*** Thursday, June 15, 6-8 p.m., place TBD.

July 2017: Applications due. (Date not yet set.)

August 2017: Site Visits

September 2017: Tentative Awards Announced

Fourth Quarter 2017: Contracts and Checks Issued
