Budget Retreat 2015City Holds Annual Budget Retreat on Feb. 6

February 6, 2015 - On Friday, Feb. 6, Mayor Madeline Rogero presented a mid-year budget report to City Council at the City's annual Budget Retreat. The City of Knoxville's fiscal year runs from July to June.

Finance Director Jim York reported that as of Dec. 31, 2014 - halfway through the 2014-15 Fiscal Year - revenue and expense totals are generally positive. Sales tax revenues are showing growth, although real property tax revenues are relatively flat. Forecasts for future pension expenses have been revised down a bit, because of strong market performance last year.

Mayor Rogero and Deputies to the Mayor Christi Branscom and Bill Lyons gave Council department-by-department highlights of City initiatives and accomplishments during the past year, as well as updates on major capital projects.
