On October 25, 2016, City Council voted unanimously to dissolve the City of Knoxville Solicitations Board and to no longer require local permits for charitable solicitations.
This change streamlines the process for local nonprofits, while still protecting Knoxville citizens from fraudulent solicitations.
Please note that the City of Knoxville ordinance still requires all entities who wish to solicit charitable contributions within Knoxville to register annually with the State of Tennessee.
