KUB Lane Closures on Homberg Dr., Kingston Pk., Houstonia Dr., Valley Ave., and N. Broadway

Due to utility work, KUB will have lane closures on Homberg Dr., Kingston Pk., Houstonia Dr., Valley Ave., and N. Broadway.

(West Knoxville) Homberg Drive Lane Closure [April 17 & 18]
– KUB crews will reduce a short section Homberg Drive to one alternating lane of traffic, between Kingston Pike and Whittaker Drive, daily from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday, April 17, and Tuesday, April 18, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. All lanes will reopen outside of listed work hours. The southbound lane will be closed while the northbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Access to local businesses will be maintained, and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(West Knoxville) Kingston Pike Lane Closure [April 17-19] – KUB crews will close a short section of the eastbound, curbside lane of Kingston Pike, at its intersection with Essex Drive, daily from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., starting Monday, April 17, and lasting through Wednesday, April 19, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. One eastbound lane, the center turn lane, and both westbound lanes will remain open during this time. All lanes will reopen outside of listed work hours. Turn access onto Essex Drive will be maintained, and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(North Knoxville) Houstonia Drive Road Closure [Extended April 17-21] – KUB contract crews will close a short section of Houstonia Drive between Aster Road and Ridgecrest Drive, daily from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., starting Monday, April 17, and lasting through Friday, April 21, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. Crews will also close a short section of Bernhurst Drive, at its intersection with Houstonia Drive, during this time. All lanes will reopen to traffic outside of listed work hours. Alternate routes include Ridgecrest Drive, Aster Road, and Fenwood Drive. Local traffic access to driveways will be maintained, and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(South Knoxville) Valley Avenue Road & Intersection Closures [April 17-21] –KUB contract crews will close a short section of Valley Avenue, between Lincoln Street and Dover Street, daily from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., starting Monday, April 17, and lasting through Friday, April 21, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. Crews will also close Sevier Avenue and McCormick Street, at their intersections with Valley Road, during listed hours as a part of this work. Alternate routes include Valley Avenue, Davenport Road, Cottrell Street, and Anita Drive. All lanes will reopen outside of listed work hours, and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. 
      
(North Knoxville) North Broadway Intermittent Lane Closures [April 17- September 2017] –KUB contract crews will implement intermittent single lane closures on N. Broadway, between West Fifth Avenue and Magnolia Avenue, as necessary to perform work on the water distribution system in the area. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, starting Monday, April 17, and lasting through September 2017.  At least one northbound and one southbound lane will remain open during this time. All lanes will reopen outside of listed work hours and on weekends. Signs will be on site to assist with traffic control, and access to local businesses will be maintained. 
    
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
