Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures on Walnut Street, W. Summit Hill Drive, S. Northshore Drive, and Boyds Bridge Pike through September 1, 2016.

(Downtown Knoxville) Walnut Street Road Closure [August 28] – KUB crews will close a section of Walnut Street, between Union Avenue and Clinch Avenue, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday, August 28, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Detour routes will include West Church Avenue, Clinch Avenue, Union Avenue, Wall Avenue, and South Gay Street. Parking access will be maintained, and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(Downtown Knoxville) W. Summit Hill Drive Lane Closure [August 28] – KUB crews will close the inside, westbound lane of W. Summit Hill Drive at the Locust Street intersection from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Both eastbound lanes, one westbound lane, and turn access to/from Locust Street will be maintained. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

(West Knoxville) S. Northshore Drive Lane Closure [August 29 – September 1] – KUB crews will implement lane closures of the outside, curbside lane of S. Northshore Drive between Erin Drive and Creswell drive from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily, Monday - Thursday, August 29 – September 1, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Crews will work in multiple areas, and work will occur in both the northbound and southbound lanes, however, lane closures won’t impact all outside lanes at once. Motorists in the area are advised to use caution. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

(East Knoxville) Boyds Bridge Pike Road Closure [August 29-31] – KUB crews will close a section of Boyds Bridge Pike between Holston Hills Road and Delrose Drive from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily, Monday- Wednesday, August 29- August 31, as work is performed on both the water distribution and wastewater collection systems in the area. Detour routes will include Delrose Drive, Holston Hills Road, Riverview Drive, West Sunset Road, and McDonald Drive. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
