Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures on Gill Avenue and Henley St. on Aug. 23.

(North Knoxville) Gill Avenue Lane Closure [August 23] – KUB contract crews will reduce a section of Gill Avenue to one alternating lane of traffic between North Fourth Avenue and North Hall of Fame Drive from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. The eastbound lane will be closed while the westbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Henley Street Lane Closure [August 23] – KUB and its contractor will implement a lane closure of the curbside, northbound of Henley Street between W. Church Avenue and Clinch Avenue from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., on Tuesday, August 23, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. One northbound lane, the center turn lane, and all southbound lanes will remain open during this time frame. As part of this work, the curbside turn lane from Clinch Avenue to Henley Street will also be closed (turn access to Henley will be maintained via the center turn lane). 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
