Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures on Locust St., S. Central St., Union Ave., and Beaumont Ave.

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Locust Street Lane Closure [Extended June 14-16] – KUB and its contractor will maintain a lane closure of one lane of southbound Locust Street between W. Church Avenue and Cumberland Avenue from 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, through 6 p.m., Thursday, June 16, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. One southbound lane will be closed, while one southbound lane remains open. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary. 
  
(Downtown Knoxville) South Central Street Lane Closure [June 15-16] – KUB crews will reduce a section of South Central Street to one alternating lane of traffic between Willow Avenue and West Summit Hill Drive, overnight from 10 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, through 6 a.m., Thursday, June 16,  as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. The southbound lane will be closed while the northbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(Downtown Knoxville) Union Avenue Lane Closure [June 15] – KUB crews will reduce a section of Union Avenue to one eastbound lane of traffic between Walnut Street and Market Street, from 5:30-10 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. Access to all businesses in the area will be maintained, and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(North Knoxville) Beaumont Avenue Shifting Lane Closure [June 15- July 1] – KUB crews will implement shifting lane closures on Beaumont Avenue between College Street and McSpadden Street from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, starting Wednesday, June 15, through Friday, July 1, as work is performed on the  natural gas distribution system in the area. The lane closed will be dependent on where crews are working, and one lane of alternating traffic will be maintained around work zones.  Some weekend work may be necessary to reach project milestones, and follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
