The members of the Energy & Sustainability Task Force guided the City's sustainability initiatives between 2007 and 2010. The Task Force's work culminated in the development of the City of Knoxville's Energy & Sustainability Work Plan, which is implemented and updated by the Office of Sustainability.

The Energy & Sustainability Task Force reflects the global effort to reduce excess energy consumption and standardize environmentally sustainable best practices. The Task Force advises City government in planning and implementing practical policies and programs through which the City of Knoxville may, by example, lead our community and our region towards an environmentally, socially, and economically healthy future.
