Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) will unveil a new work of public art on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The piece, created by Bob Emser will be located in the vestibule of Knoxville Station Transit Center, 301 Church Avenue.

Also on display will be a number of maquettes of larger works of Bob Emser, available for viewing during the event only. A slide show will highlight the 2-story installation process. Parking is available at the Civic Coliseum Garage, and trolleys operate from downtown to Knoxville Station, and most bus routes directly serve the station, which is at 301 Church Avenue.

About the artist

Bob Emser is an internationally-recognized and lauded sculptor, with exhibits on 4 continents, 7 countries, and 27 states in the U.S. During his 30-year career he has served as a visiting artist and has taught at several universities, held a tenured professorship, and founded a not-for-profit art center that is still in existence. Currently he is the president of the Chicago Sculpture International, a local affiliate of International Sculpture Center, on whose Board of Directors he has served.
