Motorists should plan for closures along Neyland Drive

Posted: 04/05/2012
Neyland Drive is scheduled to have a complete closure of all lanes from 9 p.m. April 13th to 7:30 a.m. April 15th. The closure will be in place from Walnut Street to the intersection of Lake Loudon Boulevard. Calhoun's on the River and the Tennessee Boat House will be open to traffic. This total closure is needed to complete the demolition of Pier #2.

Work on the Henley Bridge continues in Knoxville at the North and South ends of the bridge with lane shifts on Neyland Drive, which are in place to allow for the repairs and re-construction at Span #1 and Pier #2 to be completed. These closures will remain in place until August 17th.

Repairs and re-construction on the spandrel columns and caps are ongoing at Span #1, #2 and #6. Repairs and re-construction are also being done at Pier #1 and Pier #7.

If you have questions concerning the bridge or need maps or brochures, please feel free to stop by the Henley Community Center Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call 865-577-6988.
