The Grassroots Gringos will kick off the new Market Square Concert Series tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bill Lyons Pavilion on Market Square.
The event is sponsored by the City of Knoxville, WDVX, and Stellar Visions and Sound.
The Grassroots Gringos are a rising area band who describe their sound as "Old-time Island Mountain Music."
In addition, future dates and performers in the series will be announced from the stage.
All concerts in the series are free.
