On Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m., Mayor Madeline Rogero, in conjunction with Legacy Parks Foundation, will open a new river access point at 5599 Island River Drive and unveil the first of the City's blueway directional signage.
The official opening will be followed by a short kayak trip on the river, with a group of paddlers including Mayor Rogero.
Directions to the event: From I-40 east-bound, take exit 394 for US-11E/US-25W/US-70; turn left onto US-11E N; turn right onto TN-168 W/E Governor John Sevier Hwy; turn right onto Asbury Rd; take the 2nd left onto S National Dr; turn left onto Water Plant Rd; continue onto Island River Dr; river access point is straight ahead.
