Crime Database Entries Earns Employee Special Recognition

Posted: 02/01/2012
Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Police Chief David Rausch named NCIC Operator Dallas Dalton the Civilian Employee of the Month due to the quality of his criminal database entries. Mr. Dalton has been with KPD since August 2009.

Chief Rausch said that Mr. Dalton is responsible for entering records on sex offenders and gang related information into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database. While attending FBI training for area NCIC operators, Mr. Dalton was praised for the quality of the submitted gang reports. These reports provide officers valuable intelligence when dealing with gang members or suspected gang members and their associates. The gang file is an invaluable officer safety tool.

Chief Rausch said, "The FBI was so impressed with the quality of the gang file entries that they are using Mr. Dalton's work as training examples throughout the nation. With the completeness of the files our officers are better prepared to deal with what could become a violent encounter."
