City and University of Tennessee's MBA Program Join for Collaborative Project

Posted: 03/28/2012
The City of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee's full-time MBA Program have entered into a 7-week collaborative project for the Spring 2012 semester.

The UT College of Business Administration is providing five MBA students for an applied learning experience through the "Innovation in Practice" course, which is led by Faculty Partner Glenn Swift.

Working with the City's Real Estate Management office, the students will research, benchmark and develop a set of predictable recommendations for input into City planning for a fixed assets records management system.

The objective is to recommend a process and management system to make information regarding city-owned real property more accessible, allow for prioritization of resources, and plan for capital projects.

City partners for this project are Lee Miracle, Real Estate Management; Chip Barry, Finance and Administration; and Eddie Mannis, COO and Deputy to the Mayor.
