UT Students, Faculty and Staff learn about Henley Bridge Project

Posted: 10/25/2010
In a continued effort to educate and inform the public about the upcoming Henley Bridge project and closure, the Tennessee Department of Transportation will present the latest information to University of Tennessee students, faculty and staff.

The presentation will be on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday, October 29, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the University Center Auditorium on the UT Campus

The presentation will include details about the detour and what motorists can expect regarding modifications to the detour route in the coming days. Detours will continue to allow access to the University of Tennessee campus, however the closure could impact some routes typically used by students and employees at UT.

TDOT will conduct two separate but identical Henley Bridge presentations to increase the reach of the message.

In October, the contract was awarded to lowest bidder Britton Bridge, LLC. out of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee for $24.6 million dollars. The Henley Bridge will close no earlier than January 3, 2011.
