Knox County Public Library is going to hold a food drive in lieu of collecting overdue fines.

In lieu of collecting fines, Knox County Public Library will be collecting food for the Second Harvest Food Bank on Tuesday, November 16. Patrons are asked to bring in their overdue material in good condition along with a can of nonperishable food to any library location, and they will be back in good standing with the Knox County Public Library. Up to $50 of fines can be relieved per account; one item will cancel out $5 of fines. Participants will be helping stock the Second Harvest Food Bank for the holiday season. Most needed food items are canned tuna or chicken and peanut butter. Fines for damaged and lost items and collection fees will not be cancelled. No donations accepted for lost materials.
