Knoxville Zoo Reveals New Web Site

Posted: 02/17/2010
Knoxville Zoo has unveiled a redesigned Web site that allows visitors to explore the zoo before they even get there at www.zooknoxville.org.

Designed to make navigation simple, the new site features a slideshow of the newest exhibits, the latest animal arrivals, and current events and promotions. The site also incorporates social media links to make it easy for zoo enthusiasts to keep up with current zoo goings-on on Facebook and Twitter. The zoo's new Web site was designed by Knoxville-based Mediapulse.

"We realize that the first impression many visitors have of Knoxville Zoo is through our Web site," says Alison Swank, director of marketing for Knoxville Zoo. "The zoo is a fun and exciting place to visit, and we wanted to the new site to convey that energy. At the same time, we've made it easy to find the details you need to plan your visit. We've got some great things lined up in the coming year, and now we've got a great way to give visitors a preview."

Knoxville Zoo also plans for the new web site to support their social media interactions with zoo lovers as well, with direct links to the zoo's Facebook and Twitter pages. An enhanced blog highlighting the zoo's behind-the-scenes stories is set to launch soon.

Knoxville Zoo is located off exit 392 from Interstate 40 and is open every day except Christmas Day. The zoo is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is committed to the highest standards in animal care and wellbeing, ethics, conservation, and education. Currently, the zoo is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission and ticket sales stop one hour before the zoo closes. Nextday admission is free after 3 p.m. For more information, please call 865.637.5331 ext. 300 or visit www.zooknoxville.org
