Posted: 08/05/2010
The City of Knoxville's Engineering Department is hosting an informal open house to discuss an ongoing study of traffic operations on Kingston Pike and Northshore Drive in the area surrounding their intersection.

The open house is set for 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, at the Bearden Elementary School located at 5717 Kingston Pike.

This meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to learn more about the study and provide comments on the existing operations – including deficiencies - of the roadways within the study area which includes:

Kingston Pike from Papermill Road to Lyons View Pike and Northshore Drive from Papermill Road to Lyons View Pike

Representatives from Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. – the city's consultant for the study – and the city's Engineering Department will be available to discuss the scope and goals of this effort and to receive public input.

The city is seeking public input as part of the study process which is aimed at developing solutions to traffic issues on Kingston Pike and Northshore within the study area. The Engineering Department anticipates hosting an additional public meeting at a later date to review ideas for improving operations.

Members of the public are welcome to review maps of the project area during the open house and they can make comments during the meeting or on comment cards that will be available there.
