A Very Library Costume Contest

Posted: 10/14/2009
Knox County Public Library is awarding prizes for literary Halloween costumes this year in a special photo contest.

Dress up as a favorite book character, book, or even a librarian and send a picture to the Library; bonus points can be earned for featuring a book or any creative literary interpretation in the photograph.

There are two categories: photos of children from infant to age 12 and photos of teens and adults 13 years and older.

The first place winner in the children's category will receive a free photo session from Angela Herzog Photography; a runner up will receive a sitting at Olan Mills and 5 free 8 x 10 prints. The winner of the teen and adult category will receive a $50 gift card.

Each entree may submit up to four digital photographs. Photographs must be at least 300 DPI and less than 5 MB each. No printed submissions will be accepted.

Photos must be submitted online at by November 4.

Winners will be notified on November 9. For more information, and to submit photos, go to www.knoxlib.org or call 215-8767.
