2004 Reserve Officer of the Year Named

Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen today named Reserve Officer Matt Rader as the department's 2004 Reserve Officer of the Year.

Reserve Officer Rader has been a member of the Reserve Unit for two years. During 2004, Officer Rader volunteered over 600 hours of his time to the Knoxville Police Department.

Chief Owen said, "Officer Rader has dedicated a tremendous amount of his personal time to the department over the past two years. His commitment to this department and to the citizens he serves is evident with his outstanding job performance."

Mayor Haslam said, "By volunteering his time, Officer Rader has made a difference in the community. His actions continue to embody the Tennessee volunteer spirit. We appreciate his dedication."

Officer Rader will receive a signed certificate from the Mayor and Chief along with a free dinner from Ruby Tuesday.
