The next First Friday event will be November 4th from 5:00 - 9:00pm in the Market Square District which includes not only Market Square, but much of Gay St. as well. We will welcome the James Renwick Alliance from DC. The Renwick is the Smithsonian's fine craft gallery. The JRA is the "Friends of the Renwick" and will be on a "Craft Study Tour."

Due to the weather's lack of cooperation last month we welcome back both Gypsy Hands and the Taoist Tai Chi Society. "A true amalgam, the Gypsy Hands Tribal Belly Dance Troupe integrate seamlessly into their performance indigenous influences from as far away as India to as near as the Appalachians. Belly Dance, Fire, and American Hip-Hop are ever present in this continuously evolving performance. Accompanied by musicians from disparate musical backgrounds (traditional middle eastern to indie rock), these performance events reflect our contemporary global society."

The Taoist Tai Chi Society is an all-volunteer, non-profit society dedicated to making the health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi available to all.
