Computer Recycling Event May 14

Posted: 05/02/2005
Benefit local charities and Plug-In to Your Community by Recycling Computers and equipment.

When:
May 14th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What:
This eCycle event is a one day event that collects old computers, parts, peripherals, TVs and a few other electronic items. All of these items have heavy metal and should not be disposed of with your regular garbage. This event provides the community with the opportunity to properly recycle and donate these items. Non-working components are recycled and working items are given a second life. There will be a small fee for computers and other electronics that are dropped off to be recycled.

Where:
There will be two locations:
West drop-off at Farragut High School, 11237 Kingston Pike
East Drop-off at Comcast Communications, 5720 Ashville Highway

Why:
All proceeds from this event will benefit The Optimist Club of West Knoxville, Habitat for Humanity, Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley and Goodwill Industries. Recycling old electronic equipment keeps hazardous materials out of waste and makes it possible to recover resources. .
