Mayor Rogero’s State of the City Address Set for April 28, 2017

Posted: 04/18/2017
Mayor Rogero will present the State of the City Address and her proposed 2017-18 budget to City Council members and the public at noon on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Suttree Landing Park.

Hundreds of community leaders will hear the Mayor’s plans for continuing to strengthen the local economy and enhance our quality of life. She will detail plans for continuing to enhance neighborhoods and ensure a greener, more sustainable future.

Parking at Suttree Landing Park is limited, and parking spaces on Waterfront Drive will be reserved for ADA parking only. All other drivers should use the parking garage for the new Riverwalk at the Bridges development (the former Baptist Hospital Garage). KAT trolleys will transport attendees from the garage to the park, beginning at 11 a.m.

Motorists should also note that East Blount Avenue between Gay Street and Chapman Highway is undergoing streetscape improvements. Motorists should follow area traffic control signs to Kay Street to access the garage.

Suttree Landing Park can also be accessed by bus. Catch KAT’s Route 40 South Knoxville bus from Knoxville Station, departing at 11:15 a.m. Get off at the bus stop at Dixie Street and Sevier Avenue, a few blocks from the park – a leisurely 3-minute walk.

If you plan on attending, please RSVP by April 21 to the City’s 311 Call Center (311 or 865-215-4311) to reserve a bag lunch or to ask questions about logistics for the event.

Anyone needing a disability accommodation should contact the City’s ADA Coordinator, Stephanie Cook, at [email protected] or 865-215-2034. For an English interpreter, contact the City Law Department at 865-215-2050.
