KUB Lane Closures on E. Emory Rd., Kingston Pk., Scenic Dr.

Posted: 01/13/2017
Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures on East Emory Road, Kingston Pike, and Scenic Drive Jan. 17-20.

(North Knox County) East Emory Road Lane Closure [January 17] – KUB crews will close a short section of both the curbside, eastbound lane of East Emory Road and the adjacent sidewalk between Holly Crest Lane and Ridge Creek Lane, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., on Tuesday, January 17, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. One eastbound lane, the center turn lane, and both westbound lanes will remain open during this time. Flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control.

(West Knoxville) Kingston Pike Lane Closures [January 17-18] – KUB crews will close short sections of the curbside lanes of Kingston Pike from 10 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, through 6 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, as repairs are made to fire hydrants at these locations:
• Kingston Pike between Gore Road and Agnes Road – eastbound, curbside lane closed. One eastbound lane, the center turn lane, and both westbound lanes will remain open.
• Kingston Pike between Winston Road and Downtown West Boulevard – westbound, curbside lane closed. One westbound lane, the center turn lane, and both eastbound lanes will remain open.
Flaggers and arrow boards will be on site to assist with traffic control.

(Sequoyah Hills) Scenic Drive Lane Closure [January 17-20] – KUB contract crews will reduce a section of Scenic Drive to one alternating lane of traffic between Alta Vista Way and Oakhurst Drive, daily from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., starting Tuesday, January 17, and lasting through Friday, January 20, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. The northbound lane will be closed while the southbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. All lanes will reopen outside of listed work hours. Flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control, and local traffic access to driveways will be maintained.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas. More information on this and other KUB construction projects can be found at www.kub.org.
