      Winter Weather Updates for Jan. 20, 2016

      311 CALL CENTER
      Don't forget you can call the City's 311 Office for questions about City Services. Call 311 or 215-4311 Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

      TRASH / RECYCLING
      Waste Connections is stopping service for today. If weather permits, the rest of today's route will be picked up tomorrow along with Thursday's routes.

      CITY SNOW PLAN
      City Public Service crews applied brine to Level 1 & 2 streets (major arteries and main neighborhood connector streets) on Tuesday in anticipation of today's weather. They are plowing and salting all Level 1 & 2 streets today to prepare for the next round of expected snow. Learn more about the City's snow plan at www.knoxvilletn.gov/snowplan. 

      KAT BUS
      Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) buses are running on Severe Snow Routes. During severe conditions, all passengers ride fare FREE. Snow Routes are slightly altered routes that keep passengers moving and safe. Keep up with KAT at Twitter.com/KAT_Bus for weather posts.

      KNOXVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
      The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) has activated Level One of its Severe Weather Plan. Officers will continue to respond to injury crashes. Motorists involved in property damage only crashes will need to exchange information with the other driver then contact their insurance company. KPD will also utilize vehicles equipped for the weather conditions to respond to calls for service in affected areas where necessary. Keep up with KPD at Twitter.com/Knoxville_PD for weather posts.
