KUB Road Closures on Clinch Ave. Jan. 4-22

Posted: 01/06/2016
KUB Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project KUB's Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project on Clinch Ave. will create some road closures Jan. 4-22.

Market Street between Cumberland Avenue and Clinch Avenue has been reopened to traffic.

As progress on Clinch Avenue continues westward, KUB and its contractor will implement the following closures of Clinch Avenue as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project:

• EXTENDED - Clinch Avenue between S. Gay Street and Market Street -  remains closed until 6 p.m. Friday, January 8

• Clinch Avenue between Market Street and Locust Street – closed from 6 a.m. Monday, January 4, until 6 p.m. Friday, January 22

Some work will occur in the Clinch Avenue/Walnut Street intersection, but traffic flow will be maintained around the wok zone. Should construction conditions warrant the closure of the intersection, a follow-up advisory will be issued. Alternate routes include S. Gay Street, Cumberland Avenue, Walnut Street, and Union Avenue.

KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas. More information on this and other KUB construction projects can be found at www.kub.org.
