KUB and its contractor will close the W. Church Avenue/Walnut Street intersection from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project.
This closure necessitates the following closures around the intersection:
• Walnut Street between Clinch Avenue and Cumberland Avenue
• W. Church Avenue between S. Gay Street and Locust Street
Alternate routes include S. Gay Street, Cumberland Avenue, Henley Street, Locust Street, and Union Avenue. Please see attached map for more detailed traffic information.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
